Emily Armenta is a historian, a romantic, and a skilled jeweler. Her signature pieces of blackened silver and rich yellow gold are inspired by Spain’s most famous and important poet of the 20th century, Frederico Garcia Lorca. Lorca’s concept of “Duende,” the struggle one must endure to create something great, is a central theme of Arment’as designs. Spanish art, architecture, and paintings also influence her creations, which instantly conjure up images of sunken treasure from a Spanish galleon.
