Beautiful music is the inspiration behind Margo Morrison’s unique, signature collection. The designer imagines colored gemstones suspended on the neck as musical notes arranged on a staff. To achieve this look, faceted or cabochon gems are strung and knotted on fine, beige-colored nylon cord, which disappears against the skin. The stones then appear to dance on the neck in a feminine, unstudied manner that exudes casual elegance and sophistication. “My jewelry is like beautiful music; it plays off of negative and positive space and combines color, texture and shape,” Margo says.
Margo creates her pieces in multiple lengths for versatility and layering possibilities. Each is finished with a sterling silver toggle clasp cast from natural twigs and berries. The clasp allows her longer necklaces to be tripled around the neck, or wrapped around the wrist as a multiple-strand bracelet.
Her sumptuous color palette always includes luscious shades of green and blue, which are Margo’s favorite hues. Turquoise, chrysoprase, aquamarine and labradorite are frequently featured in her designs. Cultured freshwater pearls and Swarovski crystals provide accents as well. A collection of Margo Morrison New York necklaces allows the wearer to change her look by season or by what she’s wearing any given day, creating personalized expressions of style that appear fresh and on-trend.
