On staff are three AGS certified gemologist appraisers, two graduate gemologists from the GIA, and an additional GIA gemologist. Elleard Heffern Fine Jewelers is a member of the prestigious American Gem Society (AGS), a national professional organization dedicated to ethics, knowledge and consumer protection. We are proud to be a charter member of the AGS, which was founded in 1934, and the first AGS Certified Gem Lab in St. Louis. We are also members of the Jewelers of America, Jewelers Vigilance Committee, Gemological Institute of America (GIA), and the Clayton Chamber of Commerce. ABOUT AGS AND GIA Membership in the American Gem Society can only be obtained by jewelers who subscribe to the most ethical, trustworthy, and highest educational standards in the industry. Our jewelers have consistently met the most stringent requirements in gemological knowledge, so the consumer is guaranteed to be in expert hands. Each Elleard Heffern Certified Gemologist Appraiser is required to pass comprehensive exams annually, in order to ensure that they are up-to-date on the latest industry findings. The Gemological Institute of America is the undisputed educational institution of the gem and jewelry industry. The GIA provides on-campus and learn-at-home curricula in gemology, jewelry manufacturing arts, business management, and retailing.
